I've lived in Ferndale for decades now. Enjoyed going for walks in the local parks over the years.

Recently went through Vanderyacht Park (Think it's still called Vanderyacht?) near the river, and was quite horrified to see they've gone and hacked out huge swaths of trees that've been there for a long time? Including some very big, old growth trees easily over 100 + years old!! WTF?
Is this the new policy of the current crop of local politicians? Great city leadership? Our tax dollars hard at work? In one of the highest property tax areas in the entire country? Just start cutting down fucktons of trees in the parks till there's hardly any left?
Maybe future parks won't have ANY trees? Or even any grass? Probably just big vacant lots of dirt? Haha. :(
Where did all those chopped down trees go? Who got them? Did someone sell them? Who got the money?
Things that make you go hmm.
