# Exterior Painter (2–3+ Years Experience Required)
**Ellwanger Painting LLC – Bellingham, WA**
Ellwanger Painting is looking for a skilled exterior painter with **2–3 years of professional residential painting experience**, preferably working in the Pacific Northwest. We take pride in producing high-quality work, maintaining clean job sites, and treating our customers' homes with respect.
This is a position for someone who already understands professional painting—not someone looking to learn the trade from scratch.
## Responsibilities
* Pressure washing and surface preparation
* Scraping, sanding
* Caulking, filling, and minor exterior repairs
* Masking and protecting surrounding surfaces
* Brush, roll, and airless spray application
* Back-rolling and back-brushing when required
* Working safely from ladders, scaffolding, and lifts
* Maintaining a clean, organized job site
* Communicating professionally with homeowners and coworkers
* Producing work that meets high-quality craftsmanship standards
## Requirements
* **2–3+ years of professional exterior residential painting experience**
* Experience painting homes in the Pacific Northwest is strongly preferred
* Ability to properly prep surfaces—not just apply paint
* Knowledge of primers, exterior coatings, and manufacturer specifications
* Comfortable working at heights on extension ladders
* Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
* Able to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
* Dependable, punctual, and takes pride in producing excellent work
## Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with wood siding, Hardie siding, stucco, cedar shingles, and trim
* Basic carpentry or siding repair experience
* Lead-safe work practices (EPA RRP certification is a plus)
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
