Huge Morgan Vise that I think weighs about 200 pounds, mounted to a stand with a cast steel base that is 26” in diameter and about 2” thick. If I remember correctly, I think the lower 1/2 of the stand pipe is filled with a couple hundred pounds of lead shot. Overall the unit probably weighs 5 or 600 pounds. It does not move when using it, but it not too awful hard to move around the shop because of the round shape (you can tip it on end a little and carefully roll it while balancing it). The jaws of the vise are about 40.5” off the floor.
The vise action moves like butter, and will open to about 11” of useable jaw space. The steel jaws look like new with no wear that I can see.
I have two of these big vises in my farm shop, and as it turns out I am only one man, so this one has been used little in the 25 years that I’ve owned it. I’m trying to clean up the shop a little, and so it’s time to find a new home. If you want a vise that will 100% outlast you, this is it! I’m located near the Skagit/Whatcom county line off of Hwy 9. I have a truck with a liftgate or a tractor to help load into your truck/trailer.
Thanks for looking, and have a great day!
