I am a State Park/ Forest service maintenance worker who runs a handyman business from October to May (August this year). I come with references from my recent jobs and 25 years of experience. If you have a home issue or would like something built, wired, fixed, you name it- I can help. I work for $40-$55 an hour (depending on if the project is extensive electrical or plumbing) and am happy to provide project estimates. Please call me with any questions and we can start from there. I cover Whatcom and Skagit counties.
I am also currently interested in finding a small scale remodel to plug away at. I have access to a designer and skilled trade worker for the days that I need an extra hand (see pictures of for a better idea). They charge $40/hour for their time. Being a one man crew the majority of the time means that forming a healthy and communicative relationships with my clients is very important. I can run a bit slower on the completion of large projects. However, if this works with you and your schedule, I can save you multiple thousands of dollars on quality upgrades to your home.
A typical short day for me can be adding outlets for toilets with bidets, installing the toilet, and upgrading faucets and fixtures. I often do electrical projects that add switches, fixtures, and outlets to home, garages, and outdoor/ indoor spaces. I also do floor repairs and sheetrock repairs, framing and construction of tinyhomes and sheds.
My larger projects include removal of old showers and installing new tile showers. Removing flooring and installing new, level floor. I often switch out doors and windows, rebuild countertops, add cabinets, and will upgrade old outlets to meet code. I have an extensive background in trail management and gardening as well. I can build retaining walls, patios, bridges, you name it. This has recently been applied to falling trees for lumber, cleaning out cluttered branches and clearing, and building garden beds and compost setups, etc.
I work ethically and fairly, often subtracting time for store runs for material and if something takes longer than it should (references for more info).
For simple fixes or larger projects, I am currently scheduling in clients. Hope to hear from you!
