This is multiple Lee Filters kits of square / rectangular filters, with adapters for most any lens size, carrying cases, hood, and pretty much every type of filter you could want. 40 filters in total.
Square / rectangular filters offer a number of advantages over circular filters:
• You only have to buy them once, instead of buying new filters for each size of lens that you have.
• You can use graduated filters – for example darkening just the sky portion of the image, while leaving the ground portion bright, to bring the whole scene into balance.
• You can stack multiple filters without worrying about vignetting
• They are excellent quality and will last a lifetime if properly cared for, likely outlasting all of your cameras and lenses
• They work great for video and cinema. You'll see rectangular filters on most any cinema camera package.
• You can see the results in-camera, and you reduce post-processing time, vs doing HDR. Plus bracketed images for HDR doesn't work with things like video.
• They work on basically any camera, with any lens. Even lenses without filter threads (the filters are big enough you can just hold it in front of the lens while taking the shot)
• They allow you to create images that just aren't possible without them
This set includes filters designed for long-exposure, for landscape photography, for color correction and adjustment, for creative effects, for cinema, and more.
Most Lee Filters kits cost around $300-$900, and include just the base kit with 3-5 filters. This set has 40 filters in total, and would cost several thousand dollars if purchased individually. Consider that each individual filter in this set would cost $100-$200 on average, and you'll see what a good deal this is. Almost all the filters are in mint condition, and just a couple have a little bit of damage on the edges, that's not in the image-making area
