This is a modified TS-9DX. It's got some scratches but it's otherwise fully functional and sounds fantastic. Brand new $150+ Original description from Modest Mike's Mods;
"When you first step on this TS-9DX, you are going to hear the best sounding Tube Screamer, period. For starters, it's got our best TS-808 Plus mod. We replace capacitors and resistors with high quality metal film resistors and Panasonic caps, some with different values to improve the tone and eliminate noise.
There is a lot of talk about the "mid-range hump" from Tube Screamers. Some folks like it, others don't, and this seems to become a big factor when deciding to buy or not to but a Tube Screamer. When these pedals were first made back in the days I used to play (yep, I'm getting old), most amps did not have good mid-range capabilities. So the Tube Screamer was made to concentrate on the mid-range frequency. The mids are not actually boosted, there are just less highs and lows. Our mods work to add more well-defined bass and clear highs.
This pedal also now also has a couple of Keeley mods that give it about twice the amount of available gain, and also the ability to clean up better when you back off the controls.
We put in an IC socket, so you can easily swap out op amps (chips) if you like to experiment. The op amp has been replaced with the more popular RC4558P.
And of course, we put in a nice, bright, water clear LED. The LED is clear when the effect side is switched off, and a very noticeable blue when the pedal is switched on.
We also drilled and installed a toggle switch for an optional bass boost when you are using the pedal in normal TS-9 mode.
Our mods make this pedal sound great on the regular TS-9 setting. But remember, the TS-9DX also gives you three additional boost settings. I like to refer to them as "boost, more boost, and is that really necessary boost." "
