Remarkably well-preserved single 15" combo unit in very good condition for its age, works as it should. Has a warm, solid, familiar and consistent classic sound with widely-variable tone controls. Solid state electronics (no vacuum tubes) for long term reliability. Practical, compact size (27" high x 24" wide x 9.5"), weight 61 lb. A true piece of rock and roll history, likely made in '73-'74. Reportedly less than 1,000 studio bass units built over a 3-4 year period. If you know the Sunn brand, you are aware this model was designed with an ideal form factor for recording sessions or smaller-venue concerts and club gigs. If you don't know the brand, go back to the Kingsmen & their legendary hit "Louie, Louie" [ https://youtu.be/fvxH64sB4sE ] and then check out early vintage concert photos of the Beach Boys, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Kiss, Queen, Black Sabbath, Grateful Dead and The Who. This unit has the original hardware (corners, knobs, switches, pots, jacks, screws, feet, logo plate, etc.) and spent its first 48 years in the original owner's local home practice & rehearsal basement studio located less than 100 miles from the original Sunn amp factory in Tualatin, Oregon. Purchased in 2021 after the first owner's passing. Factory tolex covering has a half-century of slightly-dusty aged patina with a tiny nick on the top edge, and the first owner apparently once had casters mounted on the bottom as there are remnant screw holes visible. The original Sunn black & silver threaded grille cloth (with one tiny 1/8" scuff) still sparkles like new. Speaker cone and surround in excellent shape, no rubs or buzzes even at higher volume levels; there is a minor dent in the aluminum dust cap (does not affect sound or operation). Includes 1/4" patch cable from amp output to speaker connector. Ideal for jazz/country/classic-rock weekend warrior gigging use or retro recording studio resource, backline rental, collector investment, or period set-piece/prop. Prefer local pickup (bring your own electric bass to try). Or can professionally pack and ship this combo amp from a U.P.S. Store to anywhere in the USA. '66 Fender jazz bass seen in photo is NOT included.
