Tuned like a standard 6-string guitar – either standard tuning or any open tuning you like. OR, tune it like a regular 5-string banjo with an extra low string (what is called a 5+1 banjo, or a lo-jo).
Seriously, these are pretty much the only guitar banjos out there that actually sound good. If you've heard banjo on a record that came out of Nashville in the last several decades, chances are it was one of these – there's lots of session guys who play guitar, and these are their go-to banjos.

Hard to find fault with this particular instrument. It's been babied and looks essentially like new.
