I purchased this scooter a little over a year ago to serve as a work commuter and it handles that task well in town. It's supposed to get over 100mpg. Although I've never truly tested that, it certainly can go for quite a while on its 1-ish gallon tank. I've only put non-ethanol in it. It's a 2006 or 2007 model if I recall correctly. Insurance is very cheap on this thing compared to my motorcycle.
Upgrades:
- Lithium battery purchased recently by the prior owner - can sit for a month and still fire up on the first try. Keep in mind this scooter also has a kick-starter in a pinch.
- Restrictor washer removed and upgraded sliders and variator to Dr. Pulley and Polini respectively. Should be able to reach 45mph on flat ground (slowly of course).
- LED Headlight from Mikes Mini Motors
- Sidestand from Webike
- Slip Streamer HD-3 Tombstone Windshield
- Cup holder / dash storage mount
- DIY luggage mount with Bike Storage attached - see https://unrared.com/yamaha-c3-rack/.
- Also, soldered in a 12v line and ran it into the dash mount to power an accessories port (usb with voltage meter). This allows you to charge your phone, power a bluetooth speaker or whatever else.
It pains me to let his go, but last year I picked up a motorcycle, and I barely have enough time to ride either, so something has to go.
