MING'S HONOLULU STERLING SILVER BROOCH WITH MULTI-COLORED JADE
Signed Ming's Sterling
This is a brooch in sterling silver with 9 jade and semi-precious gemstones by Ming's. Ming's
was a jewelry maker in Honolulu Hawaii that closed in 1999. The brooch is marked Ming's and sterling on the reverse side. The
brooch has nine (9) plumeria leafs with 9 stones in different colors spaced along the branches. The brooch measures
approximately 1 7/8 inches in length and 1 3/8 inches in height. The name Ming's on on the 3rd left on the left. I first visited
Hawaii in 1968 and discovered Ming's jewelry. Later they opened a store in New York City and I purchased many items during
the 1960s and 1970s.
Ming’s opened in 1940’s by Wook Moon and Ming’s became a favorite staple in Hawaiian jewelry as it often featured beautiful Hawaiian and Asian cultural themes. Ming's jewelry is highly priced and has risen in value since the stored closed in 1999.
