This a vintage glass cruet for oil or vinegar by
Hazel Atlas. The design on the front is a rose floral rose and pink rose buds with gold leaves. The cruet is in excellent
condition without any chips, dents, or stains. There is loss of gold from the leaves on the front and loss of covering from
around the cruet stopper. I've seen this rose described as either the Vogue Rose pattern or the Gay Fad Rose pattern.
On the bottom of the cruet is the following: K, Logo, A-2. The K
refers to the plant which made the item and was
Zanesville, Ohio. The Hazel-Atlas mark, usually placed on the back of the product, is an "A" nestled underneath an "H".
The mark was reportedly first used in 1923, according to trademark office records. The A-2 refers to the mold number. The cruet, without the stopper, measures approximately 4 7/8 inches in height and approximately 3 inches in diameter
across the base bottom; measures approximately 5 3/4 inches in height with stopper in place. Hazel Atlas was the largest glass company in the United States from the 1930s until the 1950s and closed in 1964.
