Up for grabs today: a harder-to-find version of the Singer 99 sewing machine, made in November 1941.
She has the "Godzilla" finish, more properly known as Wrinkle (or Crinkle), with typical minor wear spots.
Blackside hand wheel and hard-to-find version of needle tension dial.
Original 'scroll' faceplate.
Bobbin winder works great.
Original bobbin winder tire in good condition.
Comes with its original (class 66, one-hole) bobbin with blackside finish.
Red bobbin felt is a replacement, but functions as it should.
Also has a vintage red spool felt.
BZ10 'hard-wired' motor with carbon brushes at 85%
Original rubber wiring and round plug in good vintage condition (!!).
Original Bakelite fish-eye spotlight in good working condition, contains working 'warm white' LED bulb (screw type).
One can still find the original-type incandescent bulbs, but I used an LED light in it to protect the Bakelite housing from extra heat.
It originally came to me with both a kneebar controller and a footpedal controller.
Since the knee bar itself was missing, I sold its controller on, so there is now a space for the foot pedal to be kept inside the bentwood base.
Foot pedal is metal with same 'Wrinkle' finish. It shows wear, but functions perfectly.
Its rubber feet have been replaced with stick-on clear silicone feet, but one can find original-type replacement rubber feet online easily/cheaply, if wanted.
Bentwood box lid has a repaired hole in the back.
It doesn't have its original key, but there is a little luggage lock key that works (a small screwdriver will also work).
Machine is clean, oiled, and functions perfectly!
I have had it a bit over a year, and used it occasionally for a few clothing projects, but I have recently acquired a 1930s knee-bar machine, so "Iron Beastie" is looking for new digs.
Has its original 1941 manual in good shape (oops forgot to put that in the pictures).
$300 cash only, OBO.
We can meet up or I can drop her off at your place, as you prefer.
Sorry, no shipping.
I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about her!
