Very Rare - Franciscan Ware and Gladding McBean “Coronado” Pattern 23-Piece Swirly Ivory Pottery Set from 1936 in Good Vintage Condition (USA Made).
Franciscan Ware (or Franciscan Pottery as it was first named in 1934) was manufactured by Gladding McBean & Company of Glendale, CA. USA. The Coronado pattern came out in 1936 and was GMB’s second dinnerware offering in the Franciscan patterns.
A fabulous vintage set that’s loaded with shabby chic charm and the creamy Ivory color is absolutely dreamy!
California casual pottery set in a creamy off-white / Ivory color with satin velvet-like, matte finish that features a graceful design of swirled edges and gently molded curves that twist up the sides.

Note (close-up images/condition) - several pieces have an issue to note: the sugar bowl has 2 exterior rim chips (1 tiny & 1 medium), the creamer has a small, very fine hairline crack under the spout, 5 of the dessert bowls have small rim pinholes, all the soup bowls have rim chips (2 on 1, 1 on 1, and a couple of tiny ones on 1), one of the small plates has a small rim chip, and the gravy boat underplate shows 1 crack on the top and several long cracks on the underside (very stable and doesn’t seem likely to affect its use).
