Hi There,
My name is Aaron, and I am a devoted father to four wonderful children (ages 9, 5, 4, and 18 months). I am reaching out to the community in the hope of finding a home where my family can start fresh.
A bit about us:
My children are my world, and I am determined to create a stable and loving environment for them. We've been trying to find a long-term home together since we lost our housing in 2019. Over the past couple of years our family has faced some tough times, and we're currently all living in a hotel room paid for by Opportunity Council in Bellingham.
Our current situation is temporary and very difficult with so little space. I'm currently not employed but am a carpet/upholstery restorer by trade. Lately almost all of my time has been going to childcare, looking for housing, enrolling my kids in school, and frequent trips to Seattle for medical care for my son on top of it all, but I hope to return to work as soon as I can. I believe in open and honest communication. I am more than willing to discuss any concerns or questions you may have.
Currently, I'm enrolled in a housing program with Opportunity Council that will cover my rent and utilities. I have a case manager that you can contact to learn more about the specifics, but basically it would be great security for you, since monthly rent would be guaranteed. The only catch, if there is one, is that they will have to set you up as a new vendor initially, so the first payment can take a few weeks while everything goes through their finance department, and after that everything is paid each month in a timely manner. They can offer a bigger security deposit as well for extra confidence. This is a very legitimate program and they work with landlords all around Whatcom County. If you have any questions or concerns about this, you can contact my case manager, David Loudon, at show contact info
ext. 1296 for more information.
What we are looking for:
A home: A place where my children can feel secure and happy. Since there are five of us, ideally I'd hope to find a three-bedroom house or apartment so my kids can have some space. Bellingham would be best, but Ferndale or even Birch Bay would be okay too.
A community: A welcoming neighborhood where we can build connections and become a part of a supportive community. A community with other kids would be fantastic.
An understanding Landlord: I am looking for a compassionate landlord who understands our situation and is willing to give us a chance. If you or someone you know has a rental available, we'd be grateful to hear from you.
Sincerely,
Aaron J
