Violets make a lovely woodland ground cover...but these are WHITE, which adds interest, and brightens shady corners.
Violets spread quickly, but stay low, have a dense root system so they hold soil well, and are dense enough cover to out compete most weeds. They propagate by both seed pods and runners, they are drought tolerant in anything but the sandiest of soils, and the leaves can be dried and powdered to make a nutritious soup thickener.
If you want to dig your own ( white or purple, it's late enough now that you may not be able to tell what you're getting) bring your own flat, and I'll only charge you $20 a flat.
