Our local chapter of the Washington Native Plant Society has a meeting every month. This month, an Assistant Professor of Biology at WWU will give an hour and a half long presentation describing the role of forest tree genetics in shaping variation in ecologically important traits, and how genetics can have far reaching effects on community biodiversity and ecosystem processes.
