2001 Toyota Tacoma. Clean title. $14,000. 4X4 TRD package with factory locking rear differential. 3.4l V6 with 5-speed manual transmission. Extended cab with six foot bed, sunroof, sliding rear window, Leer canopy, and Thule roof rack. I bought this truck 3 years ago with about 206,000 miles on it and it now has about 211,000 miles. It runs great and the body is in excellent condition for its age with minimal rust. I’m selling it because I bought a more modern daily driver for the creature comforts / long trips, and I can’t justify keeping both vehicles.
The previous owner was a bit of a gear head and did a bunch of work on it:
- Compression test: 210 PSI on all six cylinders which is close to factory new spec
- Coated frame in fluid film rust preventative. Frame is in great shape
- New valve cover gaskets including half moon plugs, camshaft plugs, and spark plug seals
- New PCV valve
- New spark plugs and wires
- Cleaned MAF and throttle body
- Replaced vacuum hoses with new silicone hoses
- Installed seat side trim reinforcement brackets
- New LED interior lights
- New air filter
- New lower ball joints and outer tie rods ends (followed by a front end alignment)
- New fuel filter
- New timing belt including camshaft seals, crankshaft seals, and tensioner
- New water pump
- New drive belts
- New upper and lower radiator hoses
- Flush cooling system
- Replaced front brake pads
- New BFG KO2 tires
- Satoshi grill mod
- LED Tail Lights
- Plasti-dip wheels and bumpers
Under my ownership it's had:
- Oil + filter change
- New battery
- Replaced aftermarket HID headlights with new OEM since HIDs were flaky
- New valve cover gaskets
- Timing belt replacement
- Water pump
- Crankshaft seal
- Cam seal and plug
- New washer fluid tank
Here are the known issues:
- Front rotors are pretty scored. Brakes work great, but would be good to replace at some point
- Missing one rear hub cap
- Plasti-dip is starting to come off in some places and could be stripped or redone
- Camper shell leaks water into the bed. Been meaning to re-seat the weather stripping but haven’t gotten to it
The truck drives great and I would not hesitate to take it on a long trip as it is now. Please let me know if you have any questions.
