A Basketball Practice

Greetings!

I have coached both 4th/5th grade and 6th-8th grade basketball teams in Bellingham.

I began renting an indoor gym in Bellingham. I have been hosting weekly extra basketball practices since last June.

It has been 6th to 8th graders (middle schoolers).

Now we are adding an extra basketball practice for high schoolers (current 8th to 10th graders) who will be this fall's 9th to 11th graders.

6th to 8th grade format: 10 min free choice/warm ups; 15 min drills; 15 min scrimmages; 10 min Bible devotion/prayer; 15 min drills; 20 min scrimmages; and 5 min wind down/closing.

9th to 11th grade format: 5 min free/choice; 35 min scrimmaging; 10 Bible devotion/prayer; 35 min scrimmaging; and 5 min wind down/closing.

Current 8th graders can go to either the middle school one or the high school one. Current 5th graders can attend the middle school one. This transitional period is now to August.

It can be for those too who want to play more basketball (getting ready for school teams or other basketball traveling team programs).

It is an hour and a half. It is meant to be weekly and year around. It is a Christian ministry: “Jesus loves people.” We speak of values.

Basketball Drills for middle schoolers (weaked weekly) include Bump, Around the World, STAR /Follow Your Pass drill, Lay-Ups from triple threat and dribbling positions (left, right, center, & reverse), full-court lay-up and rebounding drills, free throw, mid-range, and three-point shooting practices, Zig Zag and other defense drills, learning team offensive plays, individual post-up moves, full-court fast break drills, King of the Court, etc.

Parents can email me for more information.

Be Blessed!

“Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ”
(Philippians 1:2).
