Lovely pastel yellow lidded serving dish from the early mid century. Manufactured by the W.K Grindley Pottery Company of England between 1936 and 1954. This shallow lidded tureen or vegetable bowl is a gorgeous, soft pastel
and comes from the company's Petal Ware line of serving ware. This color is referred to as Laburnum and the delicate shape of the outer rim of the bowl and handles is reminiscent of flower petals. Absolutely beautiful!
Measures 10" (25.5cm) across from handle to handle and stands 3" (7.5cm) tall without lid, and about 4.75 (12cm) with lid (to handle top).
Bowl and lid are both in good vintage condition. There is a 1/2" space on the edge of the bowl handle that doesn't look smooth, but it is painted and sealed, so I think that is a manufacturer flaw (shown in the 5th picture). I used a penny in the pictures as size reference. The lid does have one little place that kind of looks like a nick, but it is painted and sealed also, so I think it is a manufacturer flaw as well (shown in the 6th picture). The bowl does has 3 spots under the rim that look like the finish got rubbed off (as shown in last 3 pictures). No cracks or crazing.
