Walk along the Nooksack River through searching for canine tracks with a wildlife track & sign certified naturalist this August. Come out to “get your steps in” while learning how to tell the difference between domestic dog track & sign vs coyote in a fascinating and unique workshop!
In this course we will talk all about canine tracks and coyote ecology. This will include identifying tracks, noticing behavior with the trails they leave behind, scat ID and scat behaviors that differ between wild dogs and domestic dogs.
As we get more familiar with dog vs coyote, you will learn to notice prey sign and other tracks that intersect with the path of the coyote. We’ll talk about them too and enhance our ecological awareness in this 3hr field trip!
River Walks with Northwest Natura are a wonderful way to meet new people or sign up to do something fun with your friend(s). Space is limited. Feel free to share with others you think may enjoy this outing!
