Rack is in great shape aside from one major issue. I'm happy to explain the issue, but it's hard to write out.
Saris has sent 2 replacement trays (left and right) to try to fix the issue, but the problem isn't with the tray it's how the tray connects to the base of the rack. There's essentially a nut and bolt, the nut is captured in a groove to keep it from spinning, that groove has stripped itself out so there's nothing to keep the nut from spinning, making it impossible to securely tighten or even loosen the nut/bolt that holds the tray onto the base of the rack.
If I could get it back off, I'm thinking there may be a possible JB-Weld type fix, but I've spent too much time messing with it and Saris warranty dept isn't going to help.
The tray pictured in a box is the old/used tray, the new right side tray is currently installed (loosely, due to the problem), the new left tray is in a box and would be pretty easy to install, only the right side has the problem.
At this point, I'd be happy to have it out of my garage and hopefully not just end up in the dump. If someone has some time on their hands, they can turn it into a practically brand new rack (with the two brand new replacement trays). I can even deliver it for a reasonable fee. Rack originally sold for $500 new.
It is a 1 bike rack, but it is compatible with add-ons to go up to 3 bikes max. Great for mountain bikes or anything without a full-coverage fender.
