'Wings of Hope' is a well-loved and diligently maintained 1982 Catalina 30 TR (Tall Rig w/ bowsprit), and is the quintessential first sailboat for novice owners. (She was for us!) She's also a sound choice for sailors looking to move up or down in size.
'Wings' can turn on a dime and has a nice turn of speed when the wind is up. She's comfortable above and below, and we've slept ourselves, grandkids, and a dog in her hold. She's had only three owners, us included. We've often joked that Catalinas are the 'Chevy of the Seas', and Wings is just that, solid and dependable, with a legacy of not only thousands of solid cruisers, but an equally vast network of knowledgeable Catalina owners.
Her original inboard M15 (5411) Universal Diesel is one of the most solid engines ever produced, and has been well maintained. We've documented all maintenance and have a list of the overall improvements we've made, included below.
