This rare painted hull 23’ Express still needs some TLC, no problem for the rare boat collector.
Most of the repairs to the cabin have been made. New Steering station window frames built and installed. Bow stem and fore deck replaced. Starboard cabin port light frame replaced. Cabin top replaced with Okuma marine plywood. All window glass is 1947 original with exception of Starboard forward glass. Original Chrysler Marine Engine doses need some work. The boat has been out of the water for 12 years, but hull is still tight. Of the 1460 hulls built this is one of approximately 6 known to exist in the USA. S/N: X23-646.
Purchased this great old Chris in 2011 and started repairs. I no longer have a home in the water for her and would like the boat to go to a good home, plus at the age of 72 I’m running out of steam.
Bright work has been re-chromed or polished. The picture of the boat in the water was taken approx. 1995, I included it to show the vessel overall in the water.
