This is a 2020 Specialized Ruby all-road bike. This is from the year when Specialized used the same frame for the women’s Ruby and the men’s Roubaix, but marketed them differently. It is labeled as a 51cm frame, which is the same as a men’s 52cm frame. (The next year after this bike was purchased, Specialized killed the Ruby name and started marketing gender neutral bikes). This generation frame was the first with the Future Shock suspension under the stem. It makes for a very smooth and comfortable ride. The bike is built up with a full Shimano Ultegra R8020 groupset with mechanical shifting and hydraulic disc brakes. Set up with tubeless 30mm tires and the suspension under the stem, it’s great for long rides on mixed road and gravel.

This bike was acquired while I was an employee of Specialized, but hasn’t been ridden much in the last three years (about 90 miles over that time), so it’s time to pass it on.

The bike comes with a ton of spares, including a replacement Future Shock cartridge, supplemental springs, spacers, adapters to install a regular stem, XDR freehub body, repair kit that mounts above the bottom bracket shell, latex tube, tire lever, and etc.

The brake pads and rotors were replaced and the brakes were bled three years ago, before the bike was put on light duty. The shift cables and housing were replaced at the same time using the fancy Dura-Ace polymer coated cables. The bike shifts and brakes excellently. The wheels were brand new at the same time, as the bike was ridden with a different set of carbon wheels for most of its life. This is a well-loved and well-maintained bike that simply doesn’t get ridden.
