Original everything. What may appear to be water damage in the bottom of the trunk is some kind of spilled stain or lacquer, possibly from manufacturing?
No markings that I can locate on the inside, outside, metal pieces, or lid.
It has the unmistakable look and size of a military foot locker, they haven't changed much over the years. The front and back ends of the Insert are angled inward at about a 17 degree angle. All pieces are either nailed or riveted together, not a single screw in the entire trunk, and it is surprisingly solid. The dimensions are all divisible by 3, just an observation. Also smells like you would expect a cedar chest to smell like, very fresh.
