Indonesian Suar Wood Hand Carved and Hand-painted in Bali, Indonesia. The reclining Buddha symbolizes the historical Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, during his final moments before entering Nirvana, representing peace, liberation from suffering, and the impermanence of life. This posture conveys a sense of tranquility and serves as a reminder of the Buddha's teachings on enlightenment and compassion.
This piece has its own unique energy and would be perfect for a yogi studio or Buddhist retreat center or your home.
This is a one of a kind sculpture, hand carved from one piece of teak wood and hand selected from the artist who carved it in the 1930s. My father met the original carver's grandson in Indonesia, and imported it from Bali in 2016. We no longer have space for it. Note the gold detail in the pictures! It's even more beautiful in person.
