400 sq ft converted school bus available for rent April 1st for someone seeking a simple, private dwelling close to nature. Nestled on 22 acres of serene, beautiful pasture and forestland, the housebus is a 5 min walk to a seasonal creek and epic waterfall (private access).

The bus has maple hardwood floors, kitchenette, queen bed, and lots of windows. Electricity, hot/cold water, fridge, cooktop, composting toilet, and storage shed provided. Access to a shower, bath, and flushing toilet. You provide your own propane for heater. Community garden, humannure compost system, and animal paddocks available for use. Rent is $850 plus utilities.

There’s a big garden, lots of berries and fruit trees, many flowering trees and shrubs, mushrooms (if you know how to find ‘em), forest trails to wander, and so on.

Located in Deming near the Nooksack River, at the base of the Cascade foothills (~35 min to Bellingham, Burlington, Sedro Woolley, 45 min to Mt Baker). Land shared with others who value community, good food, and being thoughtful stewards of the land.

We're a short bike ride or long walk from a lovely swim hole, and surrounded by gorgeous hiking, swimming, paddling, skiing, foraging, and mountain biking spots.

This is rustic living in the country, so you’ll need to be experienced with managing propane, disconnecting water lines when it‘s freezing, using a composting toilet, etc. If you love living simply and close to nature, this is the situation for you.
