Job Purpose: Position responsible for leading inventory control function for business, from order entry through master schedule, MRP and conrol of in-house and external 3rd party stocking.
Job Responsibilities:
Using production schedules, ERP reports, and physical counts, work closely with the manufacturing group to coordinate materials issued to work-in process, insuring that there is adequate supply to meet the production schedule and that inventory levels are kept within the prescribed levels.
Reviewing, approving and coordinating the release of inventory ensuring proper disposition of materials and introduction into production.
Directing and coordinating the inventory and work-in process inventory as scheduled and resolving inventory balance discrepancies.
Collaborating with Engineering and Production to optimize BOM structures and stocking strategy, so that extra handling is minimized.
Provides daily planning and loading schedules to factory floor to meet throughput goals in key departments.
Identifying the root cause for errors and reporting differences.
Performing adjustments within prescribed guidelines.
Processing ERP transactions to report production completions, material movement, shipments, receipts, scrap, rework and adjustments.
Identifying continuous improvement opportunities in forecasting, planning and execution of the demand/supply chain.
Tracking supply chain performance via a cohesive and comprehensive set of metrics; supply chain reliability, responsiveness, flexibility, cost and working capital efficiency.
Assisting in managing internal and external customer relationships (domestic and global).
Participating in organization and execution of physical inventory.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree (either a B.A. or a B.S.) is preferred but related work experience can substitute for degree.
Experience A minimum of eight - ten years experience in an inventory function within a manufacturing environment.
Previous MRP experience, including implementation.
Must have excellent computer skills, especially a computerized maintenance software such as Maximo, MP2 or other; Must be able to lead and coach people on the above subjects;

Counts, sorts, and receives incoming items and products to verify receipts against shipping notice. Records and checks customer name, address, model #, S/N, and quantity/quality of goods received for conformity to purchase orders and specifications.
Inputs items into computer system, labels each items received with department or customer name, model and S/N, and either distributes to appropriate department/area, or stores in warehouse area.
Communicates and coordinates Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) with appropriate department or personnel, properly inputs into computer system.
Forwards all pertinent paperwork to internal departments as required.
Identifies, tracks, and resolves inventory and receiving errors, problems, or delays.
Maintains inventory of receiving materials and supplies and notifies Logistics Manager when items are running low.
Follow established safety and quality standards.
Responsible for completing and maintaining all receiving related paperwork, files, and records accurately and timely.
Assists Receiving Team in processing RMAs.
Ability to convey detailed instructions accurately and effectively in a fast-paced mixed office and warehouse environment with frequent interruptions and loud noises.
Requirements/Essential Qualifications Ability to:
Follow written procedures and processes but also have the ability to think quickly to answer questions and solve problems involving differing situations, requiring creativity to search for solutions among learned and unlearned alternatives. Some analysis and independent judgment is required to determine appropriate courses of action.
Demonstrate attention to detail when reviewing shipment requests to ensure they are accurate and complete.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including ability to listen and disseminate information and communicate properly.
Work effectively with team members at all levels of the organization, and with the general public.
Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet as well as other basic database systems.
Manage a number of priorities simultaneously, establish and meet deadlines.
Perform the essential physical job functions including but not limited to:
Ability to spend extended periods of time standing, walking, climbing and sitting. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel and lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Mobility to travel throughout warehouse areas and workstations.
Ability to tolerate a work area containing bright lights and noise.
Sufficient finger dexterity to make small movements such as computer keyboard manipulation, packing, unpacking, or picking up small objects.
Ability to frequently lift and transport up to 50 lbs, and occasionally 75 lbs, from floor to storage shelves and/or around the work location.
Work overtime, as required.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of two (2) years previous experience working in a warehouse environment in inventory control, shipping/receiving or related position required.
Experience and proficiency working with Microsoft Office, Outlook, the Internet, and other basic computer and database systems required.
Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail a must.
Previous experience working in a technology environment or familiarity with data collection equipment and repair a plus.
